One of the hardest things about loving an animal is the sad reality that we generally outlive our best friends with four legs. We know that they have lived great lives full of love and companionship, but we still miss them terribly, for no other love is as simple and as honest as the love we receive from our pets.
If you would like to memorialize your pet or to make a donation in honor of a four legged friend of someone you care about, please send us an email and we'll be glad to include that pet's photo and story. If you make a donation honoring someone else's pet, please email us and let us know and we'll be glad to send them a card notifying them that a donation has been made in the name of their pet, and that with donations such as yours we will continue to help animals in need. |

In memory of "Trigger"
Trigger Graham passed away Wednesday night, February 13, 2008. He died peacefully at home after bringing lots of joy to Red Dog Farm. He was our first equine family member and taught us everything from how to pick hooves to why you shouldn't walk behind a blind pony. Most of all he taught us that love is blind and that just because an old pony can't see doesn't mean he can't steal your heart. He made friends with the goats, donkeys, turkey, and pig with whom he shared a pasture and he brought smiles to the faces of many passers by who enjoyed watching him sunbathe on pretty days. We have found peace and comfort knowing that Trigger spent the happiest years of his life at Red Dog Farm. We miss you, big guy.

In memory of "Dallas"
Dallas Conrad passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday night, April 7, 2007 after a battle with cancer, which he fought with his typical good attitude and happy nature. Dallas lived a life every canine dreams of. He was so loved by his human family (Justin, Andria, Annie, Egan and Maggie) as well as his rescued little lab-sister Delilah (who was adopted from Red Dog Farm). Dallas will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Memorial donations in Dallas's honor will be matched by his family and will be used to help other dogs in need.

In memory of "Dugan"
Dugan Pressly passed away June 29th and is greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Dugan was a dear friend of "Rodney," the "Red Dog" of Red Dog Farm, and the two spent countless hours playing together at the University of Florida while their owners were in law school. Dugan was one of the happiest dogs that ever lived and seemed to smile all of the time. He spent his golden years in Palm Beach, Florida where he was dearly loved by the entire Pressly family. He was a great dog and we'll all miss him.

In memory of "Davey"

Davey Kirkman passed away early Saturday morning, August 25, 2007. He was a special boy to all that knew him; he was very much loved by his family, and was often adored by complete strangers. He never met a person (or animal) that he did not like. You could always count on Davey to greet you at the door with a wagging tail, especially when his mom got home! Davey made sure you knew he was in the room, either by demanding your attention, asking for dinner, or just being a sweet, loving boy. Davey was rescued 8 years ago and was lucky to have such a great home for those 8 years. He is dearly missed by his family, including his brother and sister, Rufeo and Tinkerbell. |

In memory of "Amber"
Amber, our spritely 18 year-old calico, passed away at home on February 27th. She has been with me since I adopted her from the Rutland Humane Society in Vermont as a kitten with her late sister, Ditto. The pair lived happily as indoor cats with my family in New York, Vermont and North Carolina. When Ditto died of heart failure two years ago, Amber survived as the sole cat of the house and kept both of our rescue dogs, Ralphie and Lily, in their places. We loved Amber very much and she will be deeply missed. -Jennifer McKeon

In memory of "Regis"
Regis passed away on the morning of Saturday, March 29th, after being diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma just one month earlier. Regis was the kind of dog that everyone loved and wanted as their own. He was laid back, calm, sweet, and understood English fully. A very intelligent boy, Regis knew when he was headed to All Pets Considered -- he howled the minute he saw the Wendy's sign on Battleground Road, knowing he wasn't far away from his favorite store! He also loved going to the farm, where he was able to run and play. Since the day he was adopted from the pound as a puppy, Regis lived happily and brought joy to the lives of many. Sweet Regis was very much loved and will be missed by all.

In memory of "Ryan"
Ryan Tremblay-McBride was a wonderful cat. My daughter and I adopted him from an organization in CT called Protector of Animals. He was feline leukemia positive, and he was being kept in a cage in a basement. My mother saw an ad for him in the local paper and called to tell me I should go get him. I had no intention of having a cat, but I went to see him. When he was let out of his cage, he literally jumped into my lap and started purring furiously. He looked at me and said, 'Please get me out of here! I'm a good cat!' So Ryan came home with us and we had him for almost 8 years. Ryan would come up to you sitting on the couch and push his head up against you in the 'pet me' position and just stay there with his head down forever. I do not know how old he was, but he had lost weight and was only 6 pounds or so when he died April 4, 2008 from cancer. You can see from the picture that he was no 6 pound kitty. I hope he knows that he was the best kitty and we loved him. We will miss him. -Jennifer and Miranda; Ted, Ben, and Warren

In memory of "Winnie"
Winnie Melvin was the pride and joy of her family and lived a long, loved, happy life. She received the best possible veterinary care in her older years and every step was taken to keep her life comfortable and enjoyable. She had her "parents" trained to give her massages and hold warm heating pads on her sore spots when she got older and her joints became stiff. What a sweet, lucky dog. Winnie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In memory of "Big Froggy "
Big Froggy Jacobs was ordered as a tadpole in New York and lived for fourteen years! She was dearly loved by the Berkowitz-Jacobs family and survived having many a cat drink out of her bowl over the years. She had a few fish friends in her lifetime and was a prominent fixture in the kitchen of her family. Big Froggy will be missed and reminds us that animals don't have to have fur to be special to the people who care for them.

In memory of "KC"
KC Parker passed away on the morning of 27 May 2008. He gave our family 14 1/2 years of his extraordinary love and devotion, and he will always be in our hearts. We have so many fond memories of KC: playing in the snow, lounging in the sunshine, swimming after sticks and tennis balls, as a little golden puppy with huge paws, carrying around his Santa toy and rolling over for belly-rubs. We are grateful to all the friends and family who were so supportive of and kind to KC. He truly appreciated the love and attention, especially since it allowed him the opportunity to give the same in return.
-Jay, Corinne, Jeb, and Kirsten |
